We’ve been feeding off of shave ice and chocolates. This variation is ube put directly with sponge cake.
Let’s meet at the swap meet. Every Wednesday and Saturday there is a swap meet held around the rainbow warrior’s stadium. Tshirts, jewelry, and other wares can be found with many unique to the island.
One thing that always strikes me when going to Hawaii are the flowering plants. Flowering trees with their many colors and even the common weeds posses a sort of resplendant beauty. This is a reflection of paradise.
First stop in Hawaii: shave ice and malasadas. The texture of the shave ice really is different in Hawaii–it’s almost creamy. The malasadas are one of Jenn’s favorites. They are Portuguese donuts rolled in sugar/cinnamon and sometimes filled with chocolate, custard, or haupia (coconut). Delicious!
There is a fair amount of construction taking place where Jenn’s aunt and uncle live. It probably took a century for plants to migrate to these small islands in the Pacific and perhaps tens of years for plants, ferns, and trees to overtake lava rock and populate the surface. We’ve been eating out a bit more often during the week than our usual. Jenn needed some koobideh.
Along with pregnancy comes sleep insomnia. This is one of the projects Jenn put together last night when she couldn’t sleep. It was there for me to find on my iPad in the morning.
After runnng Windows 7 all week on a different hard drive, I went back to the original osx install. The laptop blue-screened and eternally went into kernel panic.
