We finally found a fairly decent Vietnamese sandwich shop. Jack is sampling taro boba and their fresh-made croissants.

As part of the open source conference, we were able to play with drones. Situated in the Columbia River Gorge area, I learned that Skamania and nearby area have invested in drone development. There are a number of startups and small companies who moved to the area and specialize in drone manufacture.
We invited Delia and Cole (and kids) over for dinner. We had Chicken Katsu–cooked to perfection. Jenn gave Delia an owl that she made. Unbeknownst to us, the owl has special significance to Delia and her family. Her father had used the owl in many different ways and in part, it represented their family. Pendleton has a display case that shows how wool is dyed and spun into fabric. Now retired, it used to travel and go on display and had a button that would animate the figures.
While Grandma was in town, we stopped by Jack’s new school. Jack absolutely loves his new school. They have a number of stations with organized play, similar to Bing.
