Solvang provided for some solace as Jenn and I left LA. Her dad would love to take the family to Solvang. The area was founde by Dutch immigrants who brought their customs of architecture and food. Ableskivers are a particular dessert which is akin to having a spherical pancake topped with jam and powdered sugar.

LA Weekend

Jenn’s dad is having some medical trouble–so we headed down to LA. His blood pressure became quite low and his heartrate dropped to 30 bpm. We went down to LA to support him during his recovery after getting a pacemaker as well as support Jenn’s mom and grandma.

OMSI Space

OMSI Space

The main attraction at OMSI included an extensive apace exhibit. They had a replica of the Mars rover and many other artifacts and technologies on display. The culmination of the exhibit was the IMax Hubble show which followe the life of the space telescope through it’s repairs and fantastic imagery.

T-Rex

T-Rex

The T-Rex skull was found on a ranch in Texas. A near complete skeletal remain was unearthed and is now standing erect at the OMSI. After the dinosaur was uncovered, they built a special rigging to display it. The entire piece was moved to Las Vegas where it went up for auction at the Venetian. Continue reading T-Rex
