Before Mama Jean was married, she wrote a letter to the Lord describing all the qualities for a husband. There was a specific request to know who this person should be by a token of red and white flowers. When Everett and Jean were courting, he brought her to a florist after one of their dates. She had him pick out flowers. He got her one red rose and one white rose.
On Saturday, we went to the same florist and Mama Jean picked up eight red roses and eight white roses which were all the people in her family including Marius, his family, Jennifer and myself, and Dana. It was a sweet gesture bridging a precious moment between generations.
