We’ve lived in the south peninsula for about five years. Most of our travels have taken us down through San Jose and into San Francisco. Today we ventured a little further north beyond the Golden Gate where the busy roads and city streets give way to rolling valleys and grassy hills. Above and beyond the towers of the financial district are the giant redwoods of Muir. The largest of these great trees have been growing for a millenia seeded even before San Francisco and the California gold rush. There are several trail heads taking you through the tall and still woods, the most traveled being the boardwalks setup by the Department of the Interior and State Park services.
