Cole Porter probably never thought that his productions would ever come to symphonic performances. The California Theatre is putting on a series of musicals in concert with the San Jose symphony. The venue is a stately, old theatre replete with vaulted ceilings and marble staircases. As we walked in for the night’s performance, we were greeted by a lively organist filling the front foyer with popular tunes from various broadway musicals.
