Jenn’s mom generously threw us a baby shower last weekend in Los Angeles. Thank you to all of the people who attended and “showered” us with such love and generosity. Here is a sneak peek of some of the presents that are now being put away in our apartment.

On our pit-stop in Monterey on our way home we encountered some of the best clam chowder and hot chocolate.

We also stopped at Hearst Castle on our way back up to Northern California. It was previously home to a very wealthy newspaper publisher who enjoyed living the extravagant life and throwing even more extravagant parties in the early 20th century. Jenn loves coral. We found these in Hawaii from a vendor selling gorgeous shells on the side of the road. After being carefully packed and transported, they now can be found in our living room. Now we just need to find pictures for the frames and take off the tags from the new lamp.

When Dole first came to Hawaii way back when, he brought only his Harvard Horticultural degree and $1500. Hawaii now produces 90% of the world’s pineapple and has a $50 million per year pineapple market. They also have a pretty tasty pineapple soft serve ice cream.

I knew that BYU had strict standards for genders in dorms, but this is pretty entertaining.

On Saturday we thought it would be fun to do some barbecuing at the local park so we got some marinated meat and grilled it.
