Lee’s Sandwiches
It’s hard to describe the yummy-ness of Lee’s sandwiches to the uninitiated. This little Vietnamese sandwich chain has a venue by our new apartment. My favorite things to get are the BBQ pork sandwiches and mango smoothies.

The original plan was to head into downtown San Jose for the Jazz festival. We made it up to the gates of the park downtown and stopped in at a fifties-style diner. Of course there is nothing better to get than a chocolate shake at a vintage diner entitled Johnny Rockets. Every Friday night is … Continue reading Date Night
Bernard is a very respectable name for a plant. Every so often Safeway carries potted herbs and since Jenn and I both work, there can’t be a better pet.

We’ve lived in the south peninsula for about five years. Most of our travels have taken us down through San Jose and into San Francisco. Today we ventured a little further north beyond the Golden Gate where the busy roads and city streets give way to rolling valleys and grassy hills. Above and beyond the … Continue reading Muir Woods
We have been looking at trading in for a new car for awhile now. Among the things wrong with my old car besides holding oil like a sieve and barely keeping out the elements, are a series of compounded issues. When the front bumper fell off it took with it the temperature sensor which somehow … Continue reading Toyota Sunnyvale
Our favorite little Persian place is on the opposite end of Castro street in Mountain View. It’s a supermarket with a grill around back. It takes some experience to order a meal. The rice, for instance, must be picked up at the side deli and brought to the front counter. All the grilled items are … Continue reading Rose Market
Jenn and I headed into San Francisco after a long day of errands and cars. Spencer Day is a young, modern jazz musician and singer with a penchant for singing using intoxicating half-steps and reworking the lyrical pieces of the likes of Burt Baccarat and Debussy. Yoshi’s doubles as a restaurant and lounge where occupants … Continue reading Yoshi’s Jazz
